The Hut is a small family-run stay in Mengani, Kintamani, Bali, operated together with euki nusantara. This page says what information passes through this website, why, and what happens to it — in plain words. For anything you want to see, correct or delete, write to thehutinbali@gmail.com.
When you request a stay
The booking form asks for your name, email address, dates, the number of guests, and anything you choose to write in the message box. We use it to answer you and to manage the calendar — nothing else.
It is stored in our booking database, emailed to the family, and appears in the family's private calendar. We keep it for as long as it is needed to handle your stay and our simple records; write to us and we will delete it.
Analytics
Analytics only runs if you say yes to the small banner on your first visit. Decline it — or just ignore it — and nothing is measured and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your mind any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
When it runs, we use PostHog to see how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly where visitors are from (estimated from the IP address), what device and browser, and what gets clicked. It stores a small identifier in your browser so two page views count as one visit.
We do not connect any of this to your name, we do not build profiles of identifiable visitors, and none of it is used for advertising.
Cookies
Three kinds, all small: the analytics identifier above, set only after you accept the banner; a sign-in cookie that only the people who run the site ever receive; and, only if you tap to load the map on the booking page, whatever Google sets through it — the map comes from Google Maps and follows Google's own privacy policy.
The services we run on
Like most small sites, we rent our infrastructure. Your information passes through Vercel (hosting), Upstash (the booking database), Resend (email delivery), PostHog (analytics), and Google (the family's calendar and the embedded map). Their servers are mostly in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your own country.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent your information, we do not run ads, and we do not ask for card numbers or payment details anywhere on this site — nothing is charged here.
Your choices
Email thehutinbali@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Blocking cookies in your browser does not break the site.
Children
The booking form is meant to be filled in by adults. We do not knowingly collect children's information.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it — the date at the top marks the current version.
